ENTITLEMENT

As an IFPAS Member you will:

  • Be represented by a Professional Association serving as a singular voice for financial services practitioners on legislative and policy related decisions and issues.
  • Receive regular updates to keep you abreast of directions and policies from the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) and relevant government departments.
  • Receive regular publications including our in-house journal “Coverage” which is published once in 4 months.
  • Be able to enjoy discounted members’ rates for Continuing Education seminars, workshops, conferences, sports and social events.
  • Be able to enjoy the very favourable rates under the IFPAS-Berjaya Resorts Holiday Programme.
  • Be entitled to apply for the IFPAS-American Express charge card and the IFPAS-Diners Club Affinity Card.
  • Have access to the facilities at the IFPAS Secretariat Office including our Resource Library.
  • Be entitled to enjoy preferential rates for the usage of training or meeting rooms.

MEMBERSHIP CATEGORIES

The Association has 6 categories of Membership:

Affiliate Member A person who is not an insurance and financial services practitioner or employed in the insurance and financial services industry but not a practitioner.
Provisional Member A practitioner in the insurance and financial services business and has passed the regulatory licensing examinations conducted by the respective relevant authorities.
Associate Member A person who is a practitioner in the insurance and financial services business and has any of the following approved qualifications plus 2 years of being a Provisional Member or has 2 year working experience in the insurance and financial services business.
Australian Institute of Insurance (AII)
Bachelor of Business (Financial Planning)
Certified Financial Planner (CFP)
Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC)
Fellow Chartered Financial Practitioner (FChFP)
Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA)
Chartered Life Underwriters (CLU)
Life Underwriter Training Council Fellow, USA (LUTCF)
MBA (Financial Services)
Diploma in Financial Planning
Diploma in General Insurance
Diploma in Life Insurance
and any other professional or academic qualifications deemed to be equivalent by the Council.

Associate Members may use the designatory letters AIFP (S'pore) after their names.

Fellow Member A person who is a practitioner in the insurance and financial services business and has been an Associate Member for at least 5 years shall be admitted as a Fellow Member
Fellow Members may use the designatory letters FIFP (S'pore) after their names.
Honorary Member Any person who has performed some distinguished service in the field of insurance and financial services in the community may be elected as an Honorary Member of the Association. Past Presidents shall automatically be conferred as Honorary Members. Honorary membership shall be automatically renewed annually unless such renewal is not approved by the Executive Council.
Corporate Member The Corporate membership is open to any organisation defined under the Financial Advisers Act 2001 as Financial Advisers or Exempt Financial Advisers.
