INTRODUCTION

In today's highly competitive insurance and financial services markets, clients are more knowledgeable and more sophisticated than ever before. As a result, they want more, and demand more from the insurance and financial practitioner who serves them.

The LUTC Fellow (LUTCF) Designation is just such a sign - that their practitioner is a concerned professional who is looking out for their best interests.

The LUTCF Designation is conferred only upon those individuals who meet or exceed exacting qualification standards determined through a rigorous course of study designed to improve technical knowledge and skills.

As such, individuals who wear the LUTCF key - or display it on their business cards and letterheads - have done more than simply take a pledge. They have made a promise to uphold professionalism to themselves, to the industry and above all to those they serve.

The client of a qualified insurance professional who has invested the time and effort to attain the LUTCF Designation reaps the rewards.

The LUTCF Designation:

Demonstrates the insurance and financial practitioner's firm commitment to the IFPAS' Code of Ethics and indicates a desire to provide clients the highest possible quality of service for years to come.

Establishes the insurance and financial practitioner's credentials in dealing with other financial professionals and demonstrates a degree of competence and experience expected by today's sophisticated clients.

Clearly marks the insurance and financial practitioner's long-term commitment to professional development and growth.

LUTC Fellows are encouraged to participate in additional LUTC Courses and continuing education seminars as well as other industry programs. This ongoing search for academic and professional achievement is of significance to both agent and client alike.

LUTC Fellows aspire to earnestly and effectively apply their newly acquired product and service knowledge in their client's best interests. Since 1984, more than 65,000 insurance professionals round the world have done just that.

So if you are looking for a sign of concern and commitment from your insurance and financial practitioner, then you need look no further than the LUTCF Designation.

Students must complete 5 core modules (FA Series) and the “Ethics for the Financial Services Professional” to qualify for the LUTCF designation.

The student needs to be a paid member in good standing of the Insurance and Financial Practitioners Association of Singapore.

ELIGIBILITY

LUTCF Designations are conferred only upon individuals who meet or exceed the exacting standards determined by the two organizations cosponsoring LUTC Fellow - The American College and the Insurance and Financial Practitioners Association of Singapore. More than 65,000 individuals have earned this distinction since the designation was introduced in 1984.

BENEFITS

Incentive for Continuing Education

All LUTC Fellows are entitled to a special rate of 25% off the course fee, as a form of encouragement towards continuing education.

Free listing on the LUTCF Online Directory

To publicly recognise our LUTC Fellows, they are listed exclusively at the IFPAS website, under the LUTCF Alumni. For those who have received your Fellow but have yet to register with us to be listed at this website free of charge, please call IFPAS today for the registration form!

Puts practitioners closer to the ChFC Designation

If you are a LUTC student or LUTC Fellow working towards the ChFC designation, you may be closer than you think! Individuals holding the LUTCF designation may apply for exemption for the subject HS331/ChFC06 Planning for Business Owners and Professionals. An exemption fee of S$52.50 (1 module) is chargeable.

As a Life Underwriters Training Council Fellow, I recognize that the designation carries with it certain duties and responsibilities.

And so guided by the precepts of the Code of Ethics of the Insurance and Financial Practitioners Association of Singapore, I reaffirm that I believe it to be my responsibility:

  • To maintain my clients’ confidences
  • To render exemplary service to my clients and their beneficiaries
  • To adhere to professional standards of conduct in helping my clients to protect insurable obligations and attain their financial security objectives
  • To present accurately and honestly all facts essential to my clients’ decisions
  • To perfect my skills and increase my knowledge through continuing education
  • To conduct my business in such a way that my example might help raise the professional standard of life underwriting
  • To keep informed with respect to applicable laws and regulations and to observe them in the practice of my profession
  • To cooperate with others whose services are constructively related to meeting the needs of my clients
