About The FChFP Certification

With Singapore leading the way in global wealth management, the demand for experienced financial advisers has increased significantly. As Singaporean household wealth continues to grow, consumers are seeking highly-skilled and professional financial advisers they can trust to help them clarify and achieve their financial goals.

Designed and developed in Singapore by the Insurance and Financial Practitioners Association of Singapore (IFPAS), in partnership with its international education partner and course developer Kaplan Professional Australia. The Fellow Chartered Financial Practitioner (FChFP) provides you with the critical skills and knowledge to excel within the financial advice profession and is internationally recognised by the Asia Pacific Financial Services Association (APFinSA).

Assessments

To successfully complete the FChFP Certification, participants must achieve a pass mark of at least 70% in each assessment.

• Four multiple-choice exams
• One practical case study assignment

Duration

Each subject requires 10 training hours. The minimum duration of the FChFP Certification is six and a half (6.5) months and individuals must not exceed the progression timeframe of three (3) years. Please note, this course is only offered to permanent residents and citizens here in Singapore.

Programme Details

The FChFP Certification consists of five core subjects which explore various financial advice concepts, including:
• Estate planning
• Wealth protection
• Legacy planning

These subjects cover the required technical skills and competencies of a financial adviser required by the Institute of Banking and Finance Singapore (IBF).

Completion

The FChFP designation will be awarded by APFinSA on successful completion.

IBF Accreditation

Accredited Level 2 and 3 by the Institute of Banking and Finance (IBF) in Singapore under the Skills Framework for Financial Services, the FChFP Certification is a purpose-built education pathway for financial advisers.

The FChFP Certification is also accredited for 6 hours of Core FAA Ethics CPD.

SkillsFuture Credit

The SkillsFuture Credit is a government initiative aimed at encouraging individual ownership of skills development and lifelong learning.

All Singaporeans aged 25 and above can use their SkillsFuture Credit for SFC-eligible programmes, including the FChFP Certification.

Programme Overview

Entry Requirements

Individuals enrolling in the FChFP Certification must meet the following experience requirements:

Minimum two (2) years’ relevant industry experience in roles within insurance, wealth management and/or private banking.

It is expected that individuals will also have a fundamental understanding of financial planning, insurance and wealth management concepts.

One-time Payment

Registration Fee: $300.00

A one-time, non-refundable, non-subsidised Registration Fee of $300 is payable at the commencement of the programme.

Certification Fee: $175.00

A one-time, non-refundable, non-subsidised Certification Fee of $175 is payable at the commencement of the programme.

Fees after IBF-STS Funding, applicable to both self-sponsored and company-sponsored individuals.

All prices are in Singaporean Dollars and exclusive of prevailing GST unless stated otherwise.

IBF funding is for eligible Singaporean Citizens and Permanent Residents.
